I spent the bulk of my PR career working with organisations in the business-to-business technology sector. This included a stint in-house in the domain name sector, then several years in senior client-facing roles at Metia and Hotwire PR, the top two financial technology PR agencies in the UK.
Business strategy
I learnt a lot about business technology, but the bulk of the copy I wrote was around strategic development. Whether it’s corporate acquisitions, market expansion or client retention, I’ve covered it…
Business technology
Banking and finance – in my agency roles, I worked for clients in compliance and regulation, ATM testing, core banking, market data and trading systems to name a few. Clients included Intuit, Finantix, Level Four, MYOB, Temenos and Tenfore, for whom I wrote countless articles, white papers and press briefings on a host of financial technology subjects.
Domain names – from 2001 to 2004 I worked for Regiser.com’s Corporate Services Division and Virtual Internet, which the former acquired in 2002. I managed global PR for the division, produced a quarterly publication for clients, IP Scan, on all things domain name related and delivered a constant stream of copy to magazines on subjects such as managing an online brand and protecting against domain name and cyber abuse.
